For my Foundations of Ethnic Studies course, I took a research project on media representation and brought it to life through a self-directed video collage. The project explored how minority portrayals shape both public perception and self-image, tracing media representation from its exclusionary roots to its evolving role in telling diverse stories. Through researching the history of representation in film and television, I examined how the lack of diversity creates harmful single narratives and why seeing yourself reflected in media matters, especially for children.
